Sorry Tollhouse -- meet my new Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe.
About two weeks ago I discovered that Joy the Baker, one my all-time FAVORITE food bloggers (and actually the first blogger I ever started following, way back when in middle school), has teamed up with the Washington Post to create an in-depth, 8-Week "Baking Basics" newsletter.
Get ready. A lot of desserts are coming your way -- and I hear next week is Pound Cake.
*swoon*
Week 1 started with probably the most widely nostalgic, and classically comforting baked good: a chocolate chip cookie.

Don't get me wrong, milk chocolate in a cookie is a win-win combination, but I'm a HUGE fan of any opportunity to enjoy dark chocolate, and these Dark Chocolate Chip & Sea Salt Cookies step up the entire cookie game.
Plus, it's universally acknowledged that anything sweet and salty is 1000% more addictive.
What you'll love about this recipe:
You really can use whatever type of chocolate you want, if dark chocolate's not your bag!
The sea salt is optional *though highly recommended*
This dough can keep in your freezer for up to a month (which means more late night cookie parties, and zero effort)!
Lastly, I just want to say a heartfelt thank you to dear Joy Wilson. Your endearingly witty blog opened the food-styling world to me, and not only continues to inspire me, but reminds me of how this all came into being.
Now go bake your little hearts out!
