Let's set one thing straight; breakfast is my favorite meal.
More and more often I hear people say they skip eating breakfast because they don't have time, which is sad, because they're missing out.
No more excuses people, because overnight oats are one of the easiest things to make.
I wouldn't even call it cooking - simply assembly. If you can stir ingredients together nothing can stand in your way!
Things you will love about these overnight oats:
Hearty and nourishing
100% customizable
Wonderfully thick and creamy
Makes itself while you sleep
So. freaking. easy.

A couple of years ago I made this basic overnight oats recipe and finagled with it until I determined the ratios and ingredients I like best. What's so great about this recipe is how easy it is to adjust what you include based on any dietary restrictions; no matter what yo still end up with a delicious breakfast!
3 Delicious Flavor Combinations:
Stir any of these toppings into the basic Overnight Oats recipe, for new levels of flavor!
Cinnamon Apple:1/2 of a peeled and diced apple (I prefer Honeycrisp) +1/2 tsp cinnamon
Cranberry Walnut:1/4 cup chopped walnuts, 1/4 chopped, dried cranberries, 1/2 tsp cinnamon
Raspberry Almond:1/4 cup raspberries + 2T sliced almonds (optional 1/4 tsp vanilla)
For basic Overnight Oats:
1/2 cup Old Fashioned Oats, or Steel Cut Oats
*2/3 Milk (I prefer Almond Breeze's "Reduced Sugar, Vanilla flavor" Almond milk)
*1 Banana (I prefer a speckled, brown banana, which adds another level of sweetness)
1 T Chia Seeds
Mash together the banana and chia seeds; I typically use a fork.
Stir in oats and milk
Add desired toppings and let sit overnight - then enjoy the next morning! (Overnight oats are typically served cold, as opposed to hot stovetop oatmeal).
*If using non-flavored nut milk, or regular cow's milk, I would recommend adding 1/4 tsp vanilla extract, and 1-2 T of Grade-A maple syrup for sweetness.
*I use one whole banana to help sweeten and thicken the oats, but many people use only half of a banana, plus 1/4-1/2 cup of Greek Yogurt to thicken.
